Stichting ProSea Marine Education

ProSea Marine Education is an independent, non-profit foundation dedicated to training maritime professionals (from student to CEO, from fisher to offshore engineer) on sustainability. Recognising their key role in ocean protection, ProSea enhances awareness through training sessions, workshops, and educational materials.

 

ProSea’s approach is based on the Triple P concept:

  • Planet – Promoting environmental protection and sustainability.
  • Prosperity – Fostering financial stability and growth while ensuring sustainability.

 

ProSea provides maritime professionals with opportunities to deepen their understanding of industry challenges, share experiences, and stay updated on research, regulations, and innovations. This approach highlights practical solutions for pollution prevention and ocean sustainability.

By fostering critical thinking and responsibility, ProSea empowers maritime professionals to actively contribute to a more sustainable maritime industry.

 

Europêche

Europêche is the leading representative body for the fishing industry in the European Union, advocating for a sustainable, economically viable, and socially responsible fishing sector. Bringing together national fishing organizations, Europêche ensures that fishers’ voices are heard in EU and international policymaking. Their mission is to promote responsible fishing practices that safeguard marine ecosystems while meeting the growing global demand for healthy seafood. Europêche works closely with EU institutions, policymakers, and stakeholders to integrate economic, social, and environmental sustainability into fisheries policies.

 

Europêche plays a key role in social dialogue, representing employers in the EU Sectoral Social Dialogue Committee for Sea Fisheries, where they address issues such as fair working conditions, safety at sea, and professional training. They actively contribute to EU and global discussions on fisheries management, collaborating with organizations such as the ILO, FAO, UN, and RFMOs. Through their engagement, Europêche strives to create a level playing field, combat illegal fishing, and ensure the long-term sustainability of the fishing industry and coastal communities.

CEFCM

European Maritime Training Centre) is, with 4,000 trainees annually, the largest French organization fully dedicated to the lifelong training of seafarers and all personnel within shipping companies. We operate in all major professional fields of maritime activities: freight and passengers, offshore oil and marine renewable energy, fishing and shellfish, marine, development of nautical and coastal tourism, shipbuilding and repair.

 

The CEFCM consists of three training institutions based in France, specializing in three distinct areas of expertise: navigation and general training; technical training and maintenance training and security and safety. The CEFCM shares qualifying training in partnership with the network of maritime schools based in Brittany, offers customized training, and deals with requests from all major French ports, onboard ships or within companies. National and international partnerships take place on a regular basis, using the skills of 150 trainers’ network, able to respond swiftly to any issue relating to the need for development of jobs and maritime skills.

Femxa

Femxa is an organization with 25 years of experience, specialized in consulting and vocational training for employment, aimed at both employed and unemployed individuals, companies, public administrations, consulting firms, professional practices, training centers, and universities.

 

With the mission of supporting people and organizations in their personal and professional growth, Femxa has trained more than 850,000 individuals in Spain and over 20,000 in Latin America throughout its history, delivering 22,000 in-person courses and more than 27 million hours of online training using its own methodology.

ARVI

The Vessel Owners´ Co-operative of Vigo (ARVI), was established in 1964 to promote economic and social improvement for its partners. Today, ARVI is the leading vessel owner’s group in Spain and a significant player in the European Union, collaborating with regional, national, and European administrations to shape the Common Fisheries Policy.

 

ARVI comprises over 150 companies, with a fleet of more than 190 ships, including fish freezing vessels and fresh fish fishing vessels. This fleet represents about 40% of the Spanish deep-sea fleet, totaling approximately 117,260 GT and employing around 8,778 crew members. Annual catches exceed 400,000 tonnes of fresh and frozen fish. The cooperative offers various services to member vessels, including training activities, prevention management, research and innovation, fishing license management, information services, accountancy and tax reporting, aid application management, fresh fish landings, legal-labor advice, digital scales, reusable plastic boxes, ship clearance, docking service management, bunkering and lubricant service, food and supply services, fisheries statistics, programs and planning, and protection and indemnity insurance. ARVI participates in and advises several national and European institutions, such as UNACOMAR, CES, CEP, Cámara de Comercio de Pontevedra, Consello Galego de Pesca, IPMPA Vigo, LDAC, PTEPA, and FUNDAE.
